It is a challenging question to the Jewish religious leaders then?
Because for 400 years ie. approximately 40 generations there was no message from GOD. Neither there was no messenger from their God. Suddenly appeared in their history a man named John the Baptist. His birth also was a miraculous one. So they questioned him, are you the ONE? He asserted very clearly "I am not the ONE Whom you are awaiting for". Rather with all humility he said, "I am unworthy to untie the latches of His shoes. But he boldly with all convictions and assurance declared to the entire crowed that "HE" is the Lam of God "Which taketh away the SIN of the entire world. Not only the nation Israel. So it is very important for every one to know THIS PERSON as to WHO HE IS.
This person, came baptizing those who repent and produced fruits meeting their repentance. He also boldly declared to them, the ONE who is coming after me is GREATER than me. I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. John the Baptist sole life purpose according to the divine will is to:
1. Declare the promised Messiah to the Nation Israel
2. Bear witness to Christ Jesus as His forerunner
3. Proclaim FREEDOM from Sin through Christ Jesus
4. To announce that Christ Jesus is the "Lamb of God".
John the Baptist was prophesied in Isaiah 40 and is called the "Voice of one crying in the wilderness". He came to conclude the dispensation of LAW. Until John the Baptist the Law was in effect. After declaring the Lamb of God that taketh away the SIN of the world to the global arena, he passed away.
Now the TRUE, expected, long awaited, promised, prophesied Messiah has arrived and a new era or dispensation is going to begin (the dispensation of GRACE) in Christ Jesus. He is the "I AM HE". John did not do any signs and wonders. His ministry was miracles free. But his introduction of Christ Jesus according to the divine plan to the world is the greatest wonder and miracle.
Jesus Christ Himself is THE WONDER.
He is the Word of God
He is CHRIST the Anointed one
He is the faithful Creator
He is the very God manifested in flesh and blood.
He is the Alpha and the Omega,
The Beginning and the End
Everything we see and behold came into existence through Him
By Him everything have its being
He is the very Creator everything we see is His handy works
He is VIRGIN BORN Saviour of the world
He is the Price of Peace
He is the Everlasting Father
He is the Lamb of God
He is the Seed of Woman
He is the Mighty God
He is the Victor
He is the Wonderful Counselor
He is the Ruler of the Universe (Gov't shall be upon His shoulder)
He kingdom is endless
He is the Wisdom
He is the Righteousness
He is the Sanctification
He is the Redemption (Redeemer)
He is the Root and offspring of David
He is the Seed of Abraham (Faith)
He is the Son of David (Grace)
He is the Branch
He is the Lion of Judah
He is Bright Morning Star
He is the promised Prophet (Prophet of prophets)
He is the Captain of Salvation
He is the Author and Perfecter of our faith
He is GOD-MAN
He is Son of God
His name is Immanuel (God with us)
He is the Appointed Heir of all thigs
The maker of the universe
He is the Radiance of God's glory
He is the exact representation of HIS being
Sustainer of all thing by His powerful Word
He is the First Bron from the dead
He is the Way
He is the Truth
He is the Life
He is the Bread of Life
He is the Light of The World
He is the Good Shepherd
He is the Great Shepherd
He is the Chief Shepherd
He is the Head of the Body of Christ (The Church-Bride)
He is the Chief Cornerstone
He is The LORD of lords
He is the KING of kings
He is the Lord of the dead and the Living
He is the Light of the world
The list is not exhaustive....... will grow
It is a question of knowledge (knowing Him through His revelation, the word of God), knowing Him through Bible the Word of God. There are threefold FREEDOM attached to that in the Scripture. I consider these three as statement of truth:
John 8:32
Freedom through the Word (Spirit & Life Jn 6:63)
"You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
John 8:36
Freedom through Christ Jesus (through His Virgin Birth, Vicarious death and the resurrection from death mankind stands freed)
"If the Son (Christ Jesus) sets you free, you will be free indeed"
2Corinthians 3:17
Through the presence of the Spirit of God
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
You may have these freedom through the three "Editions of TRUTH"
The Word of God (Material)
Bible is the God (Holy Spirit) inspired Word of God. There is Great Value in knowing the Word of God. This is spirit and life (John 6:63); is it's self witness. Many (multitude of all religions) either reject or neglect it for their own loss; most of them for their worst end result (eternal consequenses). This is not written for people who belong to a particular religion. It deals from "eternity past to "eternity future". What is going to happen in the ages to come.
The Main Subject: The main subject of this Book is a Person, Whose name is "Jesus the Christ". He is Divine & Human, not mixed up but joined together or God-Man. The Book deals very much about Him from the beginning to the end. Whose name is also Word of God (Logos, Christ)
Promise of this Book: This book bring the whole mankind "The Promise which is "Eternal Life".
The Main & Sole Prupose of this Book: This book has been written so that you may inherit the ETERNAL LIFE through the Person, Whom it proclaims.
The Word of God
(Christ Jesus - Flesh & Blood, Person)
Christ Himself has the name "Word of God" (Logos). He became flesh and blood and dwelt among us. He manifested His glory through the signs, wonders and miracles. If everything should be written down the world cannot contain them, the Scripture says. These were the proven evidence that the SALVATION through HIM is GREAT. How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him.
The Holy Spirit
(3rd Person of the One Triune God)
